Meet Dr Melissa Baxendale
Dental Surgeon, BDSc (Hons)
Melissa grew up in Brisbane before completing a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours at the University of Queensland. Melissa refined her dental skills in both public and private practices, before joining the team at SD Dental. This included some time in the rural Queensland town of St George – if you’re ever out that way, she raves about the steak sandwich at The Australian Hotel!
Melissa’s interest in dentistry began in her teenage years. After having orthodontic treatment, she witnessed first-hand the transformative effect of great dental care. Melissa now enjoys transforming the oral health of her own patients, and helping them build a positive relationship with the dentist. While she enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, Melissa is most passionate about the prevention of oral disease.
When she’s not in the clinic, you can find Melissa trying out the newest restaurants in town, or soaking up some sun at the beach. She enjoys keeping fit with regular hikes and group fitness classes. On the weekends, she treats herself to some cocktails & is always experimenting with new recipes.
