Dental Veneers
A porcelain veneer are thin but strong custom-made sheets of porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth.
Porcelain is the natural material of choice as it most simulates human enamel. It is used to create a beautiful and natural new smile.
Dental veneers correct the colour, size, shape and symmetry of your smile and teeth.
Our bespoke design stages:
- Consultation: We offer a complimentary consultation for your brand new smile. Allow us to listen to your need and requirements. We will take digital images of your smile and teeth and talk about your objectives. Our dentists are experienced listeners and will take the time to analyse the best approach for your best cosmetic dental outcome.
- Blueprint: Once we have established the bespoke cosmetic dental plan for your best smile, we will take impressions (models) of your mouth and teeth. These will be sent to a master ceramist. We work closely together with some of the best ceramists in the country. The blue-print or wax up is then sent back and we try it in your mouth to mimic what the final veneers will look like. This serves two purposes. It allows both us and yourself to get an idea of what the final result might look like and test drive your new smile.
- Preparation and Trial Smile: When you are ready to proceed we will then organize an appointment to shape your teeth to fit your new veeners. This appointment will end with a set of prototype or trial veeners that are fitted on while you wait for the final veneers to arrive. You can trial these veneers to ensure you are happy with the shape, shade and feel. We are very conservative at SD Dental Cleveland, and do not cut or grind your teeth down to nubs. We do not take an aggressive approach to shape the teeth for veeners. You’ll wear the protoype/trial smile for three-four weeks giving you time to identify any modifications you might like to have.
- Insertion appointment: The final step is the bonding and placement of your beautiful new veneers to complete your smile. We will permanently bond in the porcelain veneers to give you the awesome new smile! Congratulations! You may also require impressions for a guard for night time wear.
